With presentation of the modelling results for Zasavje we describe current state or forecast entire air quality in Zasavje.
In the process we cover entire emission produced in Zasavje and transport from other regions. If we knew the emissions precisely, like the five biggest emission sources that we present here, the task would be much easier. However, the data for the rest of industrial sources, traffic, domestic heating or even outdoor biomass burning are inaccurate due to rough estimation method.
The task of KOoreg is assessment of emission from the air quality measurements performed by ARSO. The method is simple at first sight: if the model calculates higher concentrations than measured, it means that we used too high emission in the model. On the other hand, if the model calculates lower concentration, we need to increase the emission. Another issue that makes our life bitterer is changing of meteorological parameters, and in time and place of the emissions. Assessments of the emissions are registered into our emission model that is constantly updated and analyzed with official and unofficial emission data.
Air quality in Zasavje region presented in group »Zasavje« is modelled on the base of following emissions:
- 5 largest industrial sources (Thermal power plant Trbovlje, cement factory Lafarge, glass factory Hrastnik, IGM Zagorje and JPK Zagorje)
- transport of polluted air from neighbouring regions (results from regional air pollution modelling system »QualeAria« - see presentation group “AIR QUALITY FORECAST FOR SLOVENIA”),
- traffic
- and domestic heating sources.
